Terig Hughes

Managing Director, South Asia & South East Asia.

Terig Hughes is currently the Managing Director for Elsevier’s Health Solutions business for South Asia & South East Asia.

Terig has spent the past 20 years working for the RELX Group (formerly Reed Elsevier), a world-leading provider of information solutions for professionals in Europe, USA, and Asia. During his tenure he oversaw a period of steady growth achieved by expanding local operations and leveraging global assets and scale to develop content and solutions tailored to meet local needs.

Prior to joining RELX Group, Terig spent several years working in the Healthcare sector in the UK, first for the NHS and then for a publicly listed nursing services company. He has also spent time as a lecturer in business and finance. Terig has a passion for Healthcare, Education and Business.

Ajit K Sharma

Director Marketing & Education Sales

Ajit K Sharma has rejoined Elsevier Health Sciences as the Director of Marketing & Education Sales to be a part of the exciting journey of Empowering Knowledge through customer centricity, product innovation and global content for Medical and health professionals. His responsibilities include successfully leading the strategic sales & marketing programs through innovative customer engagement models for both print and digital solutions in Medical Education and Health Sciences.

Ajit began his career in Pharmaceutical Sales with GlaxoSmithKline and has also worked with Prentice Hall, McGraw-Hill Education, HarperCollins and Elsevier in the publishing Sector. Prior to his current assignment at Elsevier Health Science, he was the Head of Marketing and Business Management in SCIEX (Danaher), dealing in Analytical Instruments serving the scientific community across all segments of higher sciences and Pharmaceutical businesses.

With a degree in Life Sciences and Masters in Management, along with PGPX from IIM Ahmedabad, Ajit comes with a vast variety of experience across multiple industries like, Life Sciences and Diagnostics, Publishing and Pharmaceutical sales.

Manish Satnaliwala

Finance & Operations Director, South Asia & South East Asia.

Manish started his career with Rungta Irrigation and is one of the youngest person in India to qualify CA, CS & ICWA. His career spans over 20 years in the areas of Merger & Acquisition, Financial Accounting & Reporting, Strategic Planning, Project Financing, Risk Management, Business Valuation, Taxation, Legal & Secretarial compliance in sectors ranging from Manufacturing, BPO, ITES and Start-Ups.

Prior to joining Elsevier, Manish was Vice-President-Finance at vCustomer, where he successfully led its M&A with Tech Mahindra in 2012. Has also worked in organizations like Tata Group, AVL Austria et al

At Elsevier, Manish heads the Finance & Operations Function and is responsible for financial management and controls for South Asia business operations. He is closely involved in strategic planning for company’s inorganic growth and compliance assurance. He has been serving as a Board Member since 2010 with vCustomer and now Elsevier and is very passionate and focussed on Corporate Governance and Compliance Management.

Dr Lalit Singh

Director, Content & Product Strategy

Dr Lalit Singh is currently the Director, Content and Product Strategy for Elsevier Health for South Asia, South-East Asia, Middle-East and Africa regions.

Lalit has been associated with Elsevier since year 2007, and over the years has held multiple roles in content and strategy for Elsevier Health business. In his current role, Lalit oversees the strategy for entire education and research business for Elsevier in these regions. Lalit is responsible for envisioning and executing the regional product strategies so as to maximize the business opportunities by combining Elsevier’s global content, products and workflows with local content in order to meet the local information needs of the consumers.

Dr Lalit is a General Surgeon by training and has over 10 years of clinical experience. In his last role as a clinician, Lalit worked at All India Institute of Medical Sciences before joining Elsevier in year 2007. Lalit also has a full time MBA degree from the prestigious National University of Singapore. Lalit is particularly interested in application of technology in education and research in the field of healthcare and is passionate about promotion of preventive healthcare using public education as a vehicle.

Ganesh Venkatesan

Director Editorial & Publishing Operations

Ganesh Venkatesan is currently in charge of the overall Editorial and Publishing Operations of Elsevier for South, South-East Asia, Middle-East and Africa regions. He has been in the publishing industry since 2005 initially in the data mining and from 2007 with Elsevier Operations.

Prior to Elsevier, Ganesh has worked for over 24 years in various roles in Operations and Sales in different organisations having started his career in 1981 with Tata International Ltd. He holds a degree in Chemistry, Diplome Superieur in French and a Post Graduate qualification in International Trade (PGDIT from IIFT).
