Shankar Kaul

Managing Director, Elsevier Health Solutions, India & South East Asia.

Shankar joined Elsevier in February 2017.

Shankar is a successful healthcare industry leader with more than 26 years of commercial leadership and general management experience in the industry. He has delivered consistent double digit growth over 15 years by establishing sustainable businesses across APAC in both established and emerging markets and across medical devices, specialty pharmaceuticals and rare disease areas.

Shankar started his healthcare career in India as a sales representative with C. R. Bard in 1990 and went on to hold various sales and marketing management positions in their South Asian Operations. In 1996 he was appointed as Country Manager, South Asia for Schneider, AG, a Pfizer subsidiary.

In 1998, subsequent to Schneider’s acquisition by Boston Scientific he worked as Cardiovascular Business Manager, South Asia till 2001. He moved to Singapore, as Director SEA, to establish their South East Asia business (2001 - 2003). In January, 2004 he moved to Shanghai as Country Director, Boston Scientific, China till May, 2007.

Shankar joined Baxter healthcare in June 2007 as Vice President Renal, Baxter Asia Pacific based in Shanghai. In June 2011 he relocated to Singapore as President Emerging Asia for all Baxter businesses. Shankar was appointed as Region Head Asia ANZ for Baxalta (the biotech division spin off from Baxter) and led the business till September 2016 (close of acquisition by Shire).

Shankar has an Honours degree in Economics from University of Delhi.

Shankar is married to Anita and the couple have two children, Keshav (son) and Sharika (daughter).

Dr Lalit Singh

Director Sales - Clinical Solutions & Product Strategy

Dr Lalit Singh is currently the Director - Sales Clinical Solutions and Product Strategy for Elsevier Health for India.

Lalit has been associated with Elsevier since year 2010, and over the years has held multiple roles in content and strategy for Elsevier Health business. In his current role, Lalit oversees the sales & strategy for driving Clinical Solution offerings for Elsevier in South Asia. Lalit is also responsible for envisioning and executing the regional product strategies so as to maximize the business opportunities by combining Elsevier’s global content, products and workflows with local content in order to meet the local information needs of the consumers.

Dr Lalit is a General Surgeon by training and has over 10 years of clinical experience. In his last role as a clinician, Lalit worked at All India Institute of Medical Sciences before joining Elsevier in year 2007. Lalit also has a full time MBA degree from the prestigious National University of Singapore. Lalit is particularly interested in application of technology in education and research in the field of healthcare and is passionate about promotion of preventive healthcare using public education as a vehicle.

Mr. Amit Singh

Pharma Sales Director, India & South East Asia, Elsevier

Amit Singh is leading the Pharma business in India & South East Asia.

He brings a wealth of experience in general management, strategy, sales and marketing that he has built up in companies like Pfizer, Carestream and Intel over the past two decades. Amit is a Computer Science Engineer from Delhi Institute of Technology and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. He loves spending time with his family and friends and loves his 5K runs.
