Elsevier Gyankosh

At Elsevier, the world's leading publisher of science and health information, we have absolutely no doubt that librarians play an extremely significant role in advancing and enhancing the education of the students in their college. It is the librarian's assessment and understanding of the students and teachers needs for text books and other reading material that ensures that they both get easy and relevant access to the knowledge they need to take their education, and teaching skills, forward. For delivering the same, librarians need to be able to source the right reference materials for teachers and faculty; the facilities to impact training, conduct research and build a storehouse of knowledge in the form of a comprehensive, up-to-date library.

By delivering world-class information and innovative tools, we aim to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the library - and now would like go further to help the librarians fulfill this crucial mission.

Our Mission: To build a community of librarians who can interact and share knowledge and expertise amongst themselves.

Gyankosh - Elsevier's librarians programme to maximise your efficiency and effectiveness

Gyankosh is Elsevier's special programme tailormade for librarians of Medical and Dental colleges all over India to suit their needs and build a storehouse of knowledge by delivering world class information through effective innovative tools. It helps them deal with the plethora of information they receive about printed and online publications, and ensure that the students and colleagues access the most relevant sources, in the shortest time, at the least cost. Through this programme, we will...

  • Regularly bring relevant information, through communication customised to librarians’ preferences; for example, Dental Connect, our online newsletter for librarians of dental health institutions
  • Help them update the faculty and students in their institute through newsletters, catalogues, author visits, exhibitions and book fairs.
  • We are also keen to collaborate with the institute by helping their faculty publish with us.
